Qamil (pronounced "Camille"), is an American vocalist, songwriter, published author and CEO of Soul Dope Entertainment. Qamil's musical roots run deep as the niece of Norma Jean Wright, the former lead vocalist of the 70s disco and R&B band, Chic. To date, she has released four studio projects and has performed in countless shows sharing stages with national recording artists including Neo-soul artists Dwele & Eric Roberson, R&B singers K Michelle & Adina Howard , rappers Styles P & Bushwick Bill and actor/comedian Marlon Wayans. 




In 2013, Qamil established an independent record label, Soul Dope Music. In 2014 and 2015 she received nominations for Best Female Vocalist at the Ohio Hip Hop Awards. In 2017, Qamil added “actress” to her resume as she took on the starring role in a stage production about the life of jazz legend Billie Holiday.  She also released a new EP, "Demo Tape".
